STress Management

History:
Cell is stressed out. Work associated images disrupt her fitful sleep, leaving her with only 2 to 3 hours of beneficial rest time per night despite lying physcially on the comfortable bed for at least 6 hours. Recapping the incidents always give her the shudders.

Sparks:
On 8 May 2006, Cell was scheduled for a tooth implant at NUH. However, it was cancelled as the specialist supervising my dentist had a minor stroke and was thus declared unfit to perform his duties. Although the root cause of stroke was untold, Cell surmised that stress could be the leading factor. Being appalled by this, Cell told herself that she had to start taking stress into stride, with the aim to control and reduce it to a minimal.

Week 1(starting 8 May 2006):
Cell is learning how to manage her time well so that she can spend more time with Penguin Cheery and thus, shares her gaiety. She aims to leave office by 5pm everyday, regardless of how overloaded she is. Moreover, she is not going to bring her laptop home. Let see how it goes.

In addition to that, she will be reassuring herself that work is just part of her job. Work is not her identity. The most that can happen is to lose the job. Health rules above everything. Cell will try to rid herself of her semi-perfectionist mentality, instead, she will adapt the mindset that she has tried her best in the given time frame. If capability is defined as the amount and quality of work one can complete, she doesn't mind losing in this aspect as she does not want her life to revolve around work only.

She expresses her gratitude to her key friends who have given her profusely encouragement during these choppy periods.

PS: She will start her GMAT revision when she gets supervision in July.

Pat yourself on the back! You seem to have your priorities right finally.

You don't live to work. You work to live.
